I've never heard of this one but it happened to me today. I have always been able to open a particular program from the desktop shortcut. It points to C:\program.exe. I copied two files from the same program on my other computer (running XP Pro) via CD-RW to the same location in the same program on my machine with ME. After I remove the CD when I click on the shortcut on the ME machine up comes an error that says it can't find the .exe file on the CD drive even though the shortcut is still looking at the .exe file on C. When I click on the .exe file in Explorer I get the same message. I deleted the desktop shortcut and re-installed the program over top but get the same result. I can't uninstall the program as it isn't listed in the Add/Remove Programs so I reinstalled it to a new directory, created a new shortcut and got the same error. If I put the CD in the drive the program opens and runs normally PLUS if I put "ANY" CD in the drive the program opens and runs normally. Does anyone have any idea as to what has happened? As always, thanks in advance
I've never heard of "that" happening. I'm curious about one thing. You had 3D Home Architect on both machines, right? Why were to copying the .exes over to the ME machine?
Why were to copying the .exes over to the ME machine?
I may have confused the issue. I transferred ".pl" files which are the plans that are created in the program.
Thanks
They have a tech issues section but, due to it's age it is limited to online troubleshooting and no e-mail or phone support. Thanks for the forum idea. I shall post the question on one of these forums to see what I get. I do suspect taht it is time to upgrade though.
Been there too but have not had a response to the problem. I think it's possibly a OS problem vs. a problem with the program itself. I think I'll try Microsoft.
