Retrieving deleted messages in OE

I had a system crash recently that wiped out a journal I've been working on for years. (Sorry, no backup, argh!). I bought a new computer a few months ago, and I know I emailed it to myself as an attachment and then d/l it on the new pc. Problem is when I was done with the old computer, I was too thorough in deleting any personal stuff. I deleted everything in the SENT folder, and then deleted everything in the DELETED ITEMS folder, and also emptied the RECYCLE BIN. I'm wracking my brains trying to figure out if that email and the attachment file exists anywhere in cyber land.

Many moons ago Norton used to have a program that would undelete files by simply supplying the first letter of the file name, but that was back in the days of DOS command prompts and XT's. Is there anything that could possibly enable me to retrieve that particular email and it's attachment? Thanks in advance for your help.

Could possibly still be on your webmails' server, but I doubt it. You could also contact them to see if they still have a backup of that particular day, if you can remember when it was.

If it's that important, try a data recovery app. Nothing ventured, nothing gained: -

I realize it's too late now, however, get into the habit of regularly backing up all important data, etcetera.

Good luck..................

Thanks. It's not really too critical, no income loss or anything like that, just a journal I've been working on for several years. I salvaged most of it using an undelete program and managed to recreate the rest. Not as pretty as it used to be, but most of the important stuff is there.

I d/l Genie Backup Manager, (trial version) which I like, but it's a little out of my price range for the full version.
