Angry any more pop ups and I'm going to FREAK OUT.. already have spyware deletion installed

okay, here's my dilemma... I have 2 spyware programs, Spybot and WinDoctor. It used to happen only when I would open Internet Explorer... it'd redirect me to 'about:blank' but the page would be 'Search for...". I bought Norton, ran it TWICE, and I think I only pissed it off. Instead of only getting pop ups when I first open internet explorer, now it's EVERY time I go to a page... and it's the same pop ups every time. Can anyone lead me in the right direction?

You are obviously loaded down with spyware. I don't know what version of windows you are using but this link can be very helpful in putting you on the right track for spyware and other probs.
I personally run SpyBlaster on my puter and no longer have probs--just keep it updated.

Good luck,

first go to add remove programs and remove any toolbar or search/searchbar listed. google searchbar is ok if you have it. i still hate any 3rd party toolbar... now download adaware.
http://www.download.com/3000-2144-10...age&tag=button
once installed let it update it's refference file.
when that is done and you see the main program window click the scan now button on the left. click the customize in the main window and put a check next to scan within archives, click proceed, then put a dot next to "use custom scanning options"
now click next at the bottom of the window. after the scan is is done(loud noise when it stops if your speakers are on) click next. if it found anything put your mouse pointer in the middle of the screen and right click then click "select all objects" from the context menu that appears if all objects are marked click next at the bottom of the page. you may be prompted to reboot to allow it to remove move, just follow the directions. this program will scan your host file and should remove the problem. spybot can be set to do the same thing, i have just had problems with somethings spybot does so i dont recommend it anymore.

Best pop-up solution ever: Firefox with Pop-up blocking extensions. I used to work with IE a lot and I was getting annoyed by all the pop-ups and security updates - this program has so many holes in it it would take forever to fix
So I switched to an alternative: Mozilla Firefox. It's easy to use, opens web pages in tabs in one windos and has so many usefull extensions - including pop-up blocking. I almost get no pop-ups and I open even the most pop-up annoying web pages. Try it..if you don't like it, you can always switch back to IE.

Another thing: for spyware - install AdAware. This will not block spywae from getting to your computer, but will detect it (if you run the program, of course) and delete it. It's good for cleaning up your PC from spyware..

These are just my suggestions. I'm most satisfied with the results I have acchieved using Firefox and AdAware.

thanks... I'm still having a problem with popups but only when I start certain applications like Yahoo messenger where it has a startup page that shows the news, etc... Firefox is AWESOME! Thanks Jedi!!!!!!!!!!!! That's the best browser EVER, runs really fast, no flashy stuff that'll slow you down... my advice to everone is to try it out!!!

Oh, and the shit that redirects IE is a plugin... is there a way to just delete it?
