That brought back vivid memories...
Don't ever do that again.
I had that error two weeks ago. I use my laptop (little IBM X40, I love it!) for work, my AMD Athlon (running Win 98 SE) for games and my Win2k server... research more of my posts for that...
My win98 machine did that. We ended up doing what often becomes the most common thing for a SysAdmin to do: fdsk and win98setup. I've had that win98 machine for a good four years now. It's always giving VXD errors, and I'm on the seventh time to reload the OS. I highly reccomend upgrading to XP, because after a while... 98 sort of looses it's luster. I say this not because I like XP, though it is more stable, but if you absolutely want the best, most reliable, most bang for your buck, get a mac. They're always better.
