Question script error in OE - help!

I recently had to reinstall Internet Explorer from the Microsoft website.... it gave me an updated version and it also (unexpectedly) updated my Outlook Express (much to my frustration as I lost many stored but not saved e-mails)...

but anyway, since then I have not been able to easily view attached photos before opening the e-mail - I get a message saying:
"The Outlook Express™ Slide-Show cannot be displayed unless scripting is enabled. You need to turn on scripting in the security settings for the Zone you read mail in. Look under Tools|Options|Security to set security settings for a particular Zone. "
I have done this and reset it to "Internet zone" and nothing is different...

also, along with that irritation, and even more aggrevating, a grey screen opens telling me of a script error, once as a "syntax error" and after choosing either yes or no, another error message of "object expected".... and these same messages come up again when I click to open the file...

only after 4 grey sceens and 4 times of "yes"-ing or 'no'-ing if I want to continue (no difference with either choice) do I finally get to open the photo attachment... what happened to my simple viewing and opening?......

any help is appreciated......

HHHHmmmmm. I would uninstall IE and outlook, making sure to save whatever personal stuff you want. Make sure you run disk check and defrag before any major installs. Try reinstalling fresh and see what happens. Or better yet, install an alternate browser and forget about Outlook - some browsers offer pop3 email support. Search here for browser info if you're interested. And there are other email programs ( good free ones ) that will replace Outlook. Many virus attacks are aimed at Outlook and mail themselves out through Outlook. Good luk

I have Norton SystemWorks running and did before the new install too.... that would have done the defragment and disc check, and also should have stopped any virus....

thanks for the thoughts....
