They all support .AVI, but sometime you might need to download and install the proper CODEC to watch the Clip.

You may have to get the latest DivX. Get it at Divx.com

Go with dumdum's idea. You need codecs, that's all. You do NOT need to install any other player.

web site
I had a similar problem, here is the site I downloaded the decoders from (it is not free, but well worth it to get my DVD drive working right again) I think it was about $20.00.

Yeah I got DivX but it only let's me play one thing then I have to un-install it and re-install it again. Annoying or what! I think they should make one player that plays everything it would be alot easier and they'd get more bussiness from it.

...
you can get the divx codec without getting divx.
go through the install process as usually and just select that you want the codecs. not the player. also download a real one player and patch the updatedes from it onto your computer.

has real one gotten better, and I am just missing it, or is everyone just OK with the fact that they have 2 over powering, bossy, take your computer over and send your actions to "da man" media players on their computer? I'm content with 1, but 2 takes up too much of my dial up bandwidth!

Don't bother with the DivX Player - all you need is the CODECS.
K-Lite Codec Pack
RealPlayer Alternative
QuickTime Alternative
I use em all and never have a problem with any of em.
