I Need Help With Missing Drivers Please!!!

my computer is a amd athlon xp 2400 (2.0ghz)
512 ram ddr
80 Gb harddrive
geforce 4 fx 5200
running windows millenium

umm i have 2 drive on my computer a cd drive and a dvd drive

my cd drive is working but my dvd drive is working

my computer detects my dvd drive as a cd drive
and im guessing that my drivers are too old or something

ITS A HL-DT-ST DVD-ROM GDR8161B

and i need drivers for it PLEASE

if someone could help me that will be nice

another device my computer wont detect on my computer is
something called

S400 its under other devices so i dont know..

if u guys could give me a website or so to download the drivers that willl be nice..

i already tried going to www.amd.com to search up the drivers but they dont have it

does the dvd drive read /play dvd-software discs or dvd-videos? If it does it's okay.
Windows ME normally reports a dvd drive as a cd drive. As for drivers, Windows uses it's own drivers for cd/dvd drives. Drive-manufacturers stopped making their own device drivers years ago when Windows 95 was discontinued. Drives no longer need third-party drivers --- they are manufactured to a common standard and they all work with the same microsoft driver.
