Harddrive powering down crashes

Every time my power management scheme powers down my harddrive, it locks up the system, usually with a blue screen (one time it said kernel_data_inpage_error)

Where can I find some suggestions to try so it won't crash? Ideas anyone? thanks...

Why dont you go to Start, Setting, Control Panel, Power Management, and set your Scheme to always on, and the next 3 options to never.

Unless you really need to save power that is!!

Good call.....lol. I don't encourage people to put their drives to sleep, it's hard on them, cuts down the life expectancy of the drive. I would take dumdum's advice.
There are fixes on Microsoft's site for power down HD's on Win98 if I remember correctly. Better do it quick though, before they cancel '98 support.
