Won't shut-down
Simple problem, I cliick to shut-down and the PC grinds to the "Shutting down" screen then just hangs.
If I Reset, it tells me to shut-down properly. Huh.
I have removed some old progs recently and wonder if one of the components was the shut-down sequence - seems a little extreme.
If the file is still in the "Recycle bin" what should I be looking for?
I have also up-loaded a pop-up stopper but can't remember its name, and don't recall it telling me it was working - seems to have gone into the depths of windows, I guess. Normal activity is fine, so I'm reasonably sure it's not hardware and it's only the shutting-down sequence that fails.
Is this a known trap for Win98SE?
Oddly the PC told me D-disc was full ( The HDD is split in two = C, D,), so I deleted some recent programs and it was after it twice refused to shut-down I searched this site.
Unfortunately the topics here, under Win98SE, are not exactly in any logical order ( Or, is that me?)
Regards.
