I've got an OEM version of Windows 95 sitting over at my friend's house. I accidentally left my stack of OS CD's(mostly just linux stuff) over at his house.

Windows 95 - still in use!

"If it ain't broke...don't fix it"

Manbe folkjust don't have the necessary skills to load Win98SE (a comparatively sensible update if you want usb)- yet apart from a few changes (including larger HDD support I understand, my Win98se works OK on 120G - in fact this is the system that's talking right now)

Why monkey with it?

Until Microsoft creates software that doesn't need "re-activation" or "service patches" - yet is hugely expensive in both purchase and "hardware changes"
/
I prefer to stick with Win98SE - it's not perfect, but I understand many OS are likely to fall-over. I have some interest in Linux, but that too has problems for the casual user.

Leave Win95 users alone - oh and I still have an old pc with Win95 (I think it's version -a ) and I have a cd for Win95 "with usb" (this is version -b, or -c but isn't really suitable for usb I understand).
Upgrading a very old pc is a route to disaster and loss of files - I would only suggest these folk make "copies-of-copies" of any files they wish to keep, in case the HDD/BIOS battery fails.

Regards.
