Registry problem

Hi
I'm using windows 98 first edition, 2.4 MHz, 512 RAM.
Every time I reboot my computer or when I turn it on, sudennly a light blue message box appears, and inside it says "mode not supported". After 2 minuts more or less it contionus loading windows, and everything works fine.

Becide that, I don't know if it has some connection with my current problem, but until 2 days ago, everytime i turned my computer on, a program named "registry checker" had been ativated automaticly, starting to scan the file C:/Windows/system.dat. At the end of the process it says that this file has been repaired, but still it kept appearing every time.

What can I do to solve this annoying problem?

hey
go to start , type run then write scan reg
and see if u hav any registry errors
if it says so the check wat its aying then reply back

I did what you said and activated "scanreg", but the computer didn't find any mistakes in the registry.

well if u dont use one
if it still dosent work out then i ll help u out
