backward compatibilty of xp and sp2

am i the only one who is fed up with the backward compatibility of xp home.

i myself am a lover of retro games like sim city 3000, and theme hospital. but ever since i updated to sp2 these games have stopped working and wont even install, which is annoying now because both of my pcs are xp so i have no way of playing these games.

i have xp home now for 2 years and updated to sp2 6 months ago

i was thinking of removing sp2 installing the games then reinstalling sp2. do you think this would be a good idea?

or another idea was to go out and buy windows virtual pc.

i have never had this problem with older OS's

please help

thanks

robert

Repost mate...

It might help if you post this in the XP section. Someone there might've upgraded too and 'suffer' the same problems.

before you do, have you tried compatability mode? Some settings were changed in SP2 i believe.
Or:
