lost my cd key of windows me

hi! i reformat my hard drive and i am about to install windows ME but i lost the product/cd key..is it possible for me to find the cd key in my installer alone???

No, it's not on the CD. All retail WinME CDs are the same, it's only the product keys that are different. It uses an algorithm sort of thing when the product key is entered during installation.

If Windows came preinstalled on the computer, there's a chance the product key is on a sticker on the computer case.

Hi, I don't know about ME but it's probably the same. 98 numbers all work on all disks. Find a buddy that has a 98 number and try his. Always works with 98. Good Luck, Jim

try visiting crack sites. I realise these are technically illegal, but microsoft cant sue you when you have a genuine original windows disk!

Im not going to post one here in case i get in twouble. Also dont go using the site for anything else. Cracking software you OWN is one thing. cracking someone elses is and always will be against the law.

Don't go visiting crack sites protected. You WILL be sorry.

They can sue you if you didn't have a legally obtained key.

Any cracking is illegal. whether you own it or not.

You could always call MS customer service they will give you another key you know.

I've got two ME discs a older one near when it first came out,and a newer one. Tried installing ME from the newer disc, on a machine using the older ME number. Because I missed placed the newer ones stinking product key, and it keep coming up invailed key. Finally found the original newer key "accidently stuffed it in with the 98SE book that comes with it. ARRGGG". So their something different their between the two not the same as 98 or 98 SE were you can use any 98 key on 98 or any 98SE key on 98SE.

hi just call 1 800 rulegit microsoft will give u a key i did it for 98

friend if you lost your cd key there is a way out you can go to the internet and search for it by typing in www.serialheaven .com and then when it opens you type in windows me on the provided space and then ok.u will see the key .byee from christabel.

yeah go to serial haven but first make sure your computor is extremely protected also before had down load a few program one hijack this,anothe cwshredder. well I could go on but I'll leave it at that just be prepared to reset your browser home page to!
