Hi, A drive with a few bad sectors that is stable can be used. One that keeps gaining bad ones can not be saved. Virus's some times hide in bad sectors of their own making, but don't usually keep adding new bad ones. Better think about a new Drive before that one eats all your data. Luck, Jim

Please before buying a New HDD you better wanna search for HDD Regenerator in the internet... I had a 120 Gb HDD thats was almost dead with a 37% of the Space checked as bad sectors and that little program erase them all...( I MEAN IT... THAT PROG DO NOT CHECK THE BAD SECTORS, IT REPAIRS THE FULL HDD) Conclusion: that happened to me like 2 month ago and I still have the same drive with 109 GB full of information and I didnt lost any data during the regeneration of my HDD... The rest of My HDD is empty but AVIABLE TOO!! Go search for it buddy
