disconnecting- without the mouse

Hi, would anybody be so kind as too help me with a little problem I am stuck with. I am writing this on behalf of my brother who is a blind pc-user, and one of his major frustrations is the fact that he cannot click offline in one swift hit. Too get offline he must toggle back too Outlook Express or Dial up connection, because he can't use the mouse ( for him a mouse really is an animal that eats cheese ) to click the icon. Setting it up to disconnect after a specified time of inactivity is not really a solution. So I was wondering is there a way to set an icon on Desktop just to click off line.
Hopefully theres a brain box that can help.

Many thanks

I assume he already has a shortcut on the desktop for connecting to the internet. If not you will need to create one for him. Right click on the shortcut & select "properties", then click on the shortcut tab at the top. In the field beside "shortcut key", press ctrl/alt/& a letter such as "I" (for internet). Press OK.
Now he can press ctrl/alt/I, then enter & connect. Once connected, whenever he wants to disconnect he can press ctrl/alt/I > press the right arrow key> press enter & he will be disconnected. Hope this helps.

When Choice is Lacking :)

Hello

Loss of hearing seems more daunting to me. One hears around corners etc. Signs held up before sleeping people which say “FIRE!” are not so potent.

To me, hearing is everything ... I thank God for my condition such as it is ... yours truly is a very fortunate person.

I was one of the first to be issued a computer as a prosthesis by the Veterans Administration.

I was trained by the VA but I live here ... work ... play ... shop ... verily I think I breathe through this machine ...

Without ... things seem pretty pale.

Respectfully
jivajiva

PS (edit) that's what makes this forum so priceless to me!! Glad I found it. Am telling everyone I know about it!!
