Window can't find 'C:\myDoc.xls'

hi,

my name is charles, this is my first post new thread.
I have the problem in window ME, when i clicked the ms.excel files (example: 'C:\myDoc.xls') which the error message will pop out , and
show that Window can't find 'C:\myDoc.xls'. You may have typed the name incorrectly in the Run dialog, or another open program cannot find a system file. To search a file, click the Start button, and then click Search.

So, Anyone who know that this problem???
thanks......

Regards,
charles

Simply, it means the file windows is looking for is not at the location it expects it to be.

Hi Charles, Not sure exactly what you are trying to do. C:\MyDocs.XLS is asking for a FOLDER named MyDocs.XLS. While folders (directories) can have extensions they are very rarely used. Try searching for *.XLS. That's asking for any file with the extension *.XLS. I'll bet you find all your files. Luck, Jim
