win95 won't start

my little sister has just taken possession of the old family computer with windows 95. She seems to have deleted some important files as the following message occurs at start up

"The folowing file is missing or corrupted: WIN.COM
The following file is missing or corrupted: COMMAND.COM
Type the name of the command interpreter(e.g., C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND.COM)
C>"


I am clueless about this type of stuff so any help would be greatly appreciated. cheers
