how do I retrieve a walpaper

I'm helping a friend move all his documents from an old Win95 machine to a new XP box. The only thing I can't get off is his desktop walpaper/picture. He doesn't know the name, file type or how he got it there. I'd tryed everything I can think of. Does anyone know where windows 95 saves the picture that is on the desktop, have any sugestions for finding it or know what the extension might be besides .jpg or .bmp?

I apreciate any help.

Thanks in advance!

Danny, it does save it, it needs to display it every time you start up! Where is another matter though. Its been a while since i've used a 95, but do a search in the C:\windows folder for jpg or bmp files. The search allows you to use wildcards, so you can simply type *.jpg or *.bmp to search for it. I'm almost positive it is saved as a .bmp file.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, unfortunately I have already tried them with no luck. I 've enen tried looking for hidden files too. Someone out there must know exactly where it's stored!

Thanks again

I'm sorry that didn't work. Does your friend have a print screen button on his computer? That would be a somewhat rough way, but it would work.
