Question 2nd harddrive trouble

i am running winme on a dell dimension 4100 and added a 120g harddrive but it will only show up as being a 8g drive and suggestions as to what i am doing wrong new to all this, it did work in the pc before but i removed it but now want it back in and can't get it right, it was also on a pc running winxp. i tried formatting it but still only shows as a 8g.
is it possible for someone to tell me exactly what i can maybe do to get this working properly thanks in advance for any help...

Did you by chance convert this to NTFS when you installed xp on it? NTFS is the default file system that windows xp uses. Previous versions of windows will not correctly read NTFS if at all.

Hi, Info about Master/Slave is correct, but if you have Cable Select Cables you have to set both drives on a cable to CS (CableSelect). CS cable connectors are usually color coded. Position on the cable determines which is C: and which is D:. If you are not sure which cables you have try both ways. The one that works is correct. Luck, Jim
