Please Help Xp - Me ( Please Read)

I'm trying to turn my Windows Me that I upgrade to XP back to Windows Me. Okay let me try to explain the whole scenerio I bought my windows ME from a rent to own business a while back however they lost the original master recovery disks and I never recieved them. I called HP to see if I could purchase disks from them however they no longer make the Windows Me master recovery disks due to them being out dated and I needed to reboot my computer and wipe everything because of virus problems and adware everywhere. However I did recieve the copies from the place I purchased it awhile back which to my luck were corrupted and they didn't have anything else for me. So I decided I would try to upgrade my computer from ME to Xp and as soon as I upgraded from ME - XP, the Xp program is much worse because it did not delete all the old information from ME and kept the virus and adware with it and now I'm getting about 50 popups every 30 minutes which is driving me crazy of course. I just want to completely wipe my computer out and have it back to factory settings back to the old Windows Me. So I tried A different windows Me master recovery disk to reboot after I tried to use the old corrupted windows Me disks and it won't even let me run it because it says " Setup cannot run from within Windows 2000. Shut down windows 2000. Restart your computer using windows 95 or windows 98 and than run setup. Otherwise, start MS-DOS, and then run Setup from the MS-DOS command promt." As I said I'm just trying to go back to the way the computer was originally at it's factory settings. If you could help me out I would be greatly appreciative of your much needed time and help. Hope to hear from you soon~

1/. This may help but if the problems are in ME reverting back to it isn't going to help ......... How to uninstall Windows XP and revert to a previous operating system

2/. This method of XP install from an upgrade disk will give a full clean XP install and not drag the useless ME files with it.

a. Set your cd rom to first boot in the bios
b. Put the XP upgrade disk in the rom drive
c. Cancel auto run
d. Reboot
e. Hit any key to boot from cd when prompted
f. Delete partition
g. Create new partition
h. Format and install Windows XP

NOTE 1: This will completely wipe your hard drive, back up all important files first.

NOTE 2: During this process the Install Wizard will prompt for a previous operating system disk to verify prior Windows ownership, any Windows OS disk apart from 95 will suffice to achieve this.
