Problem with display on HP Pavilion
I have been struggling to get the graphics on an HP Pavilion, with HP D5269A Pavilion M40 monitor, to work satisfactorily on some programs.
With a Standard display adapter VGA, and downloaded files of various names and sizes relating to this monitor, I still fail to get the quality of graphics I know the system is capable of.
I suspect the problem arose when I reformatted the hard drive, because of problems, and installed Windows98 SE from scratch.
Belarc gives the Circuit board as ASUS TX97XV 1.12, and the BIOS is Phoenix Technologies 4.06. The generic IDE hard drive has 1.28 Gb, but no SMART driver.
At my last attempt in updating the driver for the monitor, it requested a file HP D04910.icm, and a search came up blank on that one!
Any suggestions would be most welcome
