Getting Win98se to play games.

Well i have audio ^^

When i try to install i game though it says This Game Will not run on your operating system...

Its a win98 direct 3d game.. the directx that came with it installed ok..

yeah ihad my Utitly CD with all the drivers on.. i ran the win9x install of audi drivers from that CD... but it seems to have worked...

yeah.. i have a few conflicts in device manager... theyre

PCI Card
PCI Ethernet Controller
PCI Universal Serial Bus

Everything else seems ok there..

When i put the Interstate 76 cd in it loads the autorun menu fine.. music plays. When i click install the installer starts then stops and says This product will not run on your operating system. Please contact Activision about about localised versions of the game for your OS...
But it should work fine.. The box says it should run and looking on the forums at interstate76.com says other people play it on win98se all the time..

I picked up this game cheap locally... old games are easy to find and my bro needs some entertainment. If i can get this one working ill go out and buy him alot more.

i have a few old Dos/win98 games i downloaded and im trying some of those now but theyre all zipped up etc and dodgy so i dont know if theyre not working because of that or something to do with win98se...

oh Duke Nukem 3d just said Could Not Detect FM Chip.. does that shed any light?

oo command and conquer works.. but its not a 3d game..

another game i found Requiem Avenging angel which should work.. installed ok but when it runs it goes black then squits.. the first time it said something about unable to map keyboard?? but it never aid it again... i havnt installed any specific keyboard drivers...

i think i got it working somehow.. i have no idea how but its working... thanks anyways me happy now
