Question Repair 98 ?!?

Not sure if this is possible but, can you do a 'Repair' on win98 like on XP? I thought that that was one of the new features with XP that you could put the disk in boot up and so a repair.

Is there a way of doing a similar thing with win98 ???

Ya i think so, been awhile since i had to do one so im not entirely sure.

One of the ways is to make a system restore point and save it to a CD, and the other way is to make a restore disk, but i forgot how

If you are refering to sfc /scannow there sure is, it was called System File Checker, click this link to go to the Microsoft site for an explanation on how to use it.

Thanks guys,

I'm not refering to sfc.... although that might actually work. I was refering to the windows xp setup screen, when it searches for a 'Previous Instalation of Windows XP' after agreeing to the disclamer.

I've researched this and apparently you can just re-install win98 over the top and install it to the same directory. That effectivly repairs the OS.

Before I try anything like this I think I might Ghost the drive first !!!
