New comp :)!!!

Hi i recently got a new
amd athlon 2000+
1gb ram
80gb harddrive
GForce4 440

Anyway im trying to put 98 on it,
I've got rid of XP and installed 98.. but the the new Nvidia drives which usally make my monitor settings enabled don't work (in other words i can't go up to high resolutons..i cant get1024x768.. even though its a new 17" Flatscreen!!. and when i try to do it.. it comes up with a big white message saying run32.dll error.. i think.. and won't do what it normally does.. could this have something to do with the size of my partition.. its one whole 76gb partition.. i had problems with my m8s 40 gbs when i tryed to make one big partition 38gb and it would stall trying to make it.. (in the end i sorted it by making 2 20 gb partitions).... so im wondering if i have to partion.. the only problem is i install partiotn magic and usaly i can aces dos through 98.. but it says error 2 exit code??? and wont go into dos!!
Can anyone help me!!!

Thx for your time

have you tried to go to NVIDIA's site and then get the drivers that are specifaclly for win98SE then un-install all of the drivers and re-load the new ones?

new comp

As I see it, this seems to be your problem. You were on win xp and you had the right drivers and this device worked fine. Now you're on win 98 and this device(your video) doesn't have all the functions. The drivers for XP and 98 are different at times. What you have to do is search the manufacturer's site for the drivers for your video card that apply to win 98. I run Xp and have an ATI card which ran fine. Then I made my system a dual boot( XP+98) I had the same problem you describe and I had to get win98 drivers for the 98 portion of my system. Good Luck Lenny

hello mate HERE ARE THE DRIVERS FOR YOUR CARD FOR 98 when you get to the page you can pick either primary download site or mirror 1 or 2 or 3 just click on either one and it will start to download for you mate.

make sure that you delete the old drivers first from add/remove then download
