Question system reboots itself randomly

I have an OLD HP Pavilion 8860 with Windows ME still, it's been a good system, but now it's shutting itself down and re-booting quite often! I can't burn an ISO image in Roxio, sometimes can't even open IE6! I swept the system with virus scans, but they show nothing! I would like to keep this system going, but I no longerhave the HP recovery disks. HELP ME PLEASE???
HP Pavilion 8860
VIA AC'97 Audio (WAVE)
NVIDIA GeForce2 MX100/200
Intel 82815 Graphics Adapter
Phoenix Technologies
ASUS A7V-VM
256Meg RAM
