Windows ME Crash

Greetings, I had my windows ME crash. At the time I had only a windows 98 disk I installed it and windows 98 loaded, I thought I might want to delete Windows 98 later on so I had windows 98 load into a folder which i named win.98 . Later I found my ME disc and loaded ME, The ME OS went into the folder that I had named win.98 . Now it seems some programs are seeing OS conflicts Netscape thinks Im running windows 98 I guess cause ME is in a folder Called Win.98 . I cant get netscape 7.2 to open so I can try to recover my emails . I cant change the name on the folder named win.98 I cant delet it , and I really need to get my emails out of netscape7.2 before I do a fctory restore. Is there any hope for me?

this should be a simple one... 1st.. pop in the ME disk, reboot
( your bios should be set to boot to CD) and do a dirty install/overlay.

it will have by default if you want to keep your files,etc..so just hit enter to continue.

it will ask you to reboot (3 times) so keep the ME disk in till it is done.

then when it is all done, it should ONLY be ME then do system clean up and delete all the 98 crap,lol

I was wondering , alwaysonline, the only ME disks I have are the recovery disks Will your solution work from there ? will they give me th option for a "dirty" instsall?
