flash drive with Win 98?

Is it possible to use a flash drive with Win 98? I know it doesn't work automatically, but perhaps there is some software that can be installed which would enable a Win 98 computer to read a flash drive. I am trying to move many photos from an old computer to a new one and burning CD's is very time-consuming. Any advice?

Yes you can use a flash drive on Windows 98, as long as you have the correct drivers for the Windows 98 OS!

Take a look at this for furher help:

Flash drive

Win98SE with USB1.1
I can't remember having any issue with the one flash drive I have (not that I use it much) - I can see it under My Computer and it is given a drive Letter (so confusing if you attach memory devices in a different order- this is a real flaw IMHO - the drives should be called by their Mfr and capacity.(Hitachi1G)...If you wish to assign another name (Work) then there could be a small data area for this purpose.
Encryption:
I have seen a USB-encryped Flash memory, does anyone know if this just asks for a first-user password and then encrypts on its own - I read that it virtually eliminates the risk of sensitive data being read (if you lost the thing)....
Here in the UK on of our Banks managed to lose a Laptop which had customer data on it....and presuming it wasn't encrypted they took nearly 5 weeks to send round a note telling us it was OK and that "we" should be careful about our data.....cheek - it was their fault. I wasn't careless...Grr.

USB memory:
Let this BB know if you sort it, pse.
