I've been beating my head against the wall on this all day.
Running a P4 2.0
512 RAM
10gb hdd (not a misprint)
98se fully updated.
Long and short, I like to have a native 98 environment for some stuff, so I got a small HDD to install 98 on. Got it all running now with the proper drivers - video, ethernet, etc. I've found the drivers online that SAY they are for this particular model/soundcard (built in Intel) but they don't self install. I try a manual install and it still won't recognize them.
I HAD all of this on a 13GB a while ago, but that drive finally went crunchy. Thing it, it had been years since I configured it and forgot exactly what I did to get the audio.
It's the Intel i845GL chipset with the intergrated audio.
This is what it gives for the card infoL Device Audio : 82801DB/DBL/DBM (ICH4/ICH4-L/ICH4-M) AC'97 Audio Controller
I've tried every one of the dang AC'97 driver files all to no avail.
Help?!?
