Question share-to-web upload folder wont leave desktop

Hello I am new to the group and seem to have a problem like everyone else here.
I am running windows ME and I have a share-to-web upload folder icon on my desktop that will not leave I have tried many things to try to get it off of my desktop and back into the proper folder. It seems to try to sign me on the internet about every 5-10 minutes. Closes down programs when it wants to what a mess. Does anyone know what this might be or has anyone had this happen to them before? thankyou for any adivce.

No, I have never had this happen to me before, walkswithelves. I do think, though that you might have a spyware problem. Try downloading Spybot:S&D. It is a free program which might solve your problem. Also run a virus scan if you have antivirus program (you should have one).

The comp that has the problem does not use internet to be able to recieve spyware. That was one of the things that I have tryed with several extract programs. I can not get any of my anti vir programs spec. Norton to install on the computer with this virus that I have. Does any one know if I can format my hardrive if I do not have any back up disks besides what you can make from the comp in other words I do not have any Win ME disk to reinstall after formatting. Thank you for advice

MOVE. I did some additional research on it and found that it was a know virus that is caused on Win ME (not surprised) There is no way to fix it except reinstalling or getting a patch the problem has been resolved eaither way. Next time follow Brut you should take some advice from Thumper "If you dont have anything nice to say don't say anything at all" Also please be sure to read clearly and get the facts before you add your 2 cents or just keep em

HP Share-to-Web

I had a similar problem which I solved by uninstalling the HP Share-to-Web program.
