Unhappy hardware wizard

hi .hope you can help
on boot up , hardware wizard asks for software, and I have to cancel it off.
I think the problem lies with optical mouse I installed/uninstalled
it was inop/faulty. Idid'nt get replacement.
on searching around I found a chimouse.vxd which relates to the uninstalled mouse. I have searched files and folders and deleted any files but this .vxd ....could that be the problem???
thanks whitey

whitey a vxd is a virtual device driver
if the new hardware wiz is coming up that means it sees a new device and wants the driver!!
so.....give it the driver!!
do you have the install disk for that mouse?.if so pop it in and follow the wizard when it asks you where you want to look for the driver point it to you cd drive and browse for the location on the disk .good luck!!
