an invalid command option was specified. Check the command line and try again. Or type setup /? for help on the setup command options (0x13ab)

I have tried to do that but it tells me nothing, that or it is there I just don't understand it. I have had problems with this before on my other PC with this Win98se dick. you should be typing c: setup
not setup c:.......try this command c: setup\sys it will also copy your system files to hard drive so if you want to install a component down the line you wont need the set up disk
good luck!!!

if that dosent work here is your solution

This happens if the Setver.exe file is damaged.

Restart your computer.

Press and hold down the CTRL key after your computer completes the Power On Self Test (POST), and then choose Command Prompt Only from the Startup menu
At the command prompt, type the following commands, pressing ENTER after each command:

cd\windows
ren setver.exe setver.old

Extract a new copy of the Setver.exe file from the Microsoft Windows 98 CD-ROM.

Thanks, I did get it going but that is what I am going to do with the setver.exe file. I new that a file was corrupt on the win CD but didn't know which one. I am going to keep this in mind when I do install again since down the road I am sure I will have to reformat again. It's my son's PC and I just know it will be messed up before long.
Also I am sorry I did mean C: set up not "setup C:
Thanks for all the help guys.

Hello members

I am pretty new to this forum. I have tried all of the extraction part but still with no luck. If I use a different win98 cd do you guys think i can bypass the 0x13ab error? when I go to a: prompt and typ cd\windows, i just get an error? when I do a: ext i get : where do you ant to extract from: ???

then it says what file so i typ: setver.exe

then it says what path? this is where i thin i lose it? because it tells me

Error: could not open file??

Can someone please direct me what to do? My CD-rom drive is G by the way

any help is appreciated
