Small Issue...
I have an extremely old laptop that is running Windows 98... I guess as a kind of project, I wanted to see if I could get it working again. Now here's my problem... On startup, the computer gets as far as the Windows splash screen and then it does nothing... I can see it's not frozen because the little graphic at the bottom of the splash is still moving, but I've left it sitting for at least an hour with nothing happening. So I figured well ok... I have the 98 disk, I'll just reformat the hd and be done with it. Denied... The cd drive sounds like it's working but the computer says there is some kind of error with it. Believe me, it's not being any more specific than I'm being right now... I can get to the menu where I can choose to start the computer normally, in safe mode, with the command prompt, etc..., but all of those menus get me nowhere... Normal and safe mode do absolutely nothing except take me to the splash screen and sit there... And well command prompt hasn't been too helpful either. I have no access to a floppy drive and no clue of what else to do. Is there some kind of super master reset button on the hd i can press or something, because.. well I can't think of anything else... All I can tell you about the laptop itself is that it says Notebook on the cover and it's made in Taiwan lol... I don't see a brand name anywhere on this thing... That's unless Notebook is the brand name... Oh yeah and the hard drive says Toshiba, but I doubt that will help lol...
Thanks ahead of time.. (Heh... Now that I wrote it all out, the issue doesn't seem so small lol...)
