Exclamation CD drives show message "The environment is incorrect"

I am trying to install software (Pixela Image Maker) on my wife's computer that runs Windows 2000. When I place the CD in either of her two CD drives a small gray box appears on her monitor. It has an exclamation mark in yellow and the message "the environment is incorrect". This software was on the computer in the past but we recently had the computer completely restored. Thanks in advance. Mike

Been a while since i seen that error, usually because of antivirus programs.
Questions:
Does it only do it with that install disk?
Do other disk install or function correctly?

Only thing I can post as a suggestion for now is a link that has a suggested fix.

Yes, other disks install & funtion correctly. It is only on the Pixela disk that came with my Sony Digital Handycam. I will try the suggested fix. Thanks

OK, most newer hardware and software do not support 9x systems. If that is a new sony handy cam check the specs it will probably say it requires 2000/XP and maybe Vista depending on the MFG date.
