a fatal exception 0E has occured at...
Hi, well to start off... I formated my HDU... which took off XP.. and now I have 98 installed. When it came time to install all my drivers my onBoard audio didn't install properly... So I removed it and loaded it again... still nothing... But now, when I try to update it, I get a B.S.OD that says
A fatal exception 0E has occured at 0028:c026b3d1 in VXD NT KERN(06) + 000005e1.
then all the bla bla about alt ctrl delete or press any key...
So i press any key then i get this RUNDLL32 error (RUNDLL32 caused a general protection fault in module user exe at 0010:00001276..... then a bunch of numbers)
Whats happening?!
Any replies would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

the partition is to big windows 98 will install and run on larger, but can only control 32gig partitions and drives. the operating system will see all of it, format all of it, but will not work right on it, you can use third party software like partition magic to fix, or the 98 floppy and fdisk, if you use the 98 floppy, you will have to reinstall 98.

My friend has had his partitions this big for the longest time... he's had no problems...
Oh and just to mention... FDisk will convert from NTFS to Fat32... (I saw one of your other posts...hehe.. I had that problem.. but it worked in the end)

well if it works for him, it must be right, and yes a 98 bootdisk fdisk utility will convert ntfs to fat, actually, you delete the partition then create the new one, format...... but what post are you talking about?

it's cool no matter what , i just try to help the best i can with the best/easiest solution i can give for individual situations with the information i am supplied. i try to make sure your hardware/software is correctly set. this combination may throw you off a bit when you have a windows error, and i suggest hardware setups. but this is all in the best interest of your computing happiness.

i am not a moderator here, am at several other forums, just started posting here on the first of this month, i maintain a server and systems when everyone else that works here is gone for the night/weekend. being by myself i do this to pass the time when nothing is wrong on our end and i am not backing up or answering calls to customers.

How can I fix those?
