Outlook Express starting with windows
I've just been trying to solve a problem with a friend's Windows 98 where Outlook Express starts up on loading windows 98
Also on opening Outlook Express at any time the dialler starts up and has to be cancelled whether Outlook is set to Work Online or Offline.
I have changed the settings in IExplorer under Connections to Never Dial a connection. But still the box pops up and tries to dial.
Can anyone tell me where there are settings to stop it opening on startup (I already tried msconfig Startup and OE isn't in that list as something that starts with windows strangely!)
And how do you stop it dialling to leave it only manual dial up using the DUN standard shortcut?
Thanks for your help.
As a final bit of info, I have also tried to get the password greyed out to return to having a tick in it, by deleting the *.pwd file in Windows System and that seems to be solved but there is still a password box calling the owner "q" when windows starts but that's for another question later.
