MSDXM.OCX explorer error

Damned frustrating. Whenever I try to access (usually) an online store e.g. Disney.co.uk, I get this error message, which takes me right back to my desktop. Any suggestions, please?

This error is related to Windows Media Player and possibly direct x. Start by going to > start > run > type - dxdiag. Check there for direct x problems. You can go here and download the msdxm.ocx zip and allow it to rewrite the one in your system. Or you can reinstall media player or upgrade media player.

I followed your instructions. Firstly, the fault was diagnosed - a set-up error. I uninstalled my version of Media Player and installed tha latest version from your link.

Thanks again - that would have cost about £60 if I'd taken my system into my local PC Shop!

Just another question - where do you people find out all this information?

In forums like this and researching others problems and from personal experience.
Some people here, I suspect, are in various facets of the business. I see a software developer here, networking experts, shop owners/technicians, and I am sure some of these guys must be certified MS technicians.
