upgrade from windows 95 to windows 98

I have windows 95 and I am trying to upgrade to windows 98. When I use the windows 98 CD, it tells me that windows is already installed. How do I install windows 98 correctly? Someone please help me!!

You best methid would be to backup your important data and format and install 98 with a clean install. Doing an upgrade it a bad idea and may cause problems later on.

98 install over 95

How much memory do have on your system. Win 98 will need more memory.
when you go to install 98 win should see that as an upgrave. When your system is up and running and you install win 98 cd
it should automatically start up. Does this happen? It should ask you if you want to install win98 and all you should have to do is answer YES. If that doesn't work click start, run, type your cdrom drive letter(d:\ setup) and enter. this should start the cdrom ind install win 98 over win95(an upgrade. I really don't think you should have to erase the hard drive. Good Luck Lenny
