DSL OK for Older Computer?

I have a 6 year old eMachines. I'm using Windows ME. Since everything has gotten so slow I thought that maybe I'd try DSL but don't know if it would make much difference with the older computer.

Would like to hear what you have to say.
Thanks

Hi, when you say things have become slower are you referring to internet speed or your PC in general?
ADSL is a lot quicker than dial up but your web surfing will be quicker not your PC.

DSG OK For Older Computers?

I am referring to internet speed...surfing, etc.
Downloading photos is such a nuisance, takes forever!

It depends on your PC's specifications, in general, anything with a 400mhz processor and 64mb of ram can run DSL, but it depends on what broadband modem and software you use

If your using windows ME chances are your pc can run DSL, it will make surfing alot faster yes

The specifications you gave match mine. So I will definitely give DSL a try. Now I hope it won't be a problem for me to have it installed. I'm truly a novice at this!!
