codec error

hi first time poster here,
I downloaded a movie file "svcd ts-cam m.p.g."
Playing movie in windows media player.When player starts I get error downloading codec. Movie still plays visually but no audio.Can anyone help me here or tell me were I would go to get the codec link to download, or if anyone has it.
I would appreciate any help on this one.

I am on windows 98

http://www.headbands.com/gspot/ and/or download the divx codec at www.divx.com since most online movies are encoded in the divx format.
