Hi..

I ve just started using w2k professional client...basically migrated from win98..in win 98 for the computer name there would also be an comment. so that somebody browses the network neighbourhood they can see the computer ID and also a comment..in w2k professional client i couldnt put the COMMENT...Can somebody help me on this...

I dont think you can actually add a comment about your computer in Windows 2K Pro. I use it, And i havnt added a comment either. I hadnt noticed that until i just read this.

I just had a quick flick through all the settings to do with my network. And i cant find a way to add a comment to your own machine. Sorry

In order to add a comment next to you computer name in network neighborhood in win2k first:

1. right click my computer and go to manage
2. by default, computer management will open and computer management (local) should be highlighted
3. right click computer management (local) and go to properties.
4. click on the second tab called network identification and in the description field, comment all you want.
