Printer for all

I have 1 W2K server, 1 network printer, 80 Win XP PC.

I need the printer to be available for all users even new created users. Without going to the domain and then double click on the printer to make it available to the pc.

Do you have any idea how can this be done?

in the printers properties go to the sharing tab. check share this printer and give it a name, check the "list in directory" box. instruct your users to go to printers and faxes in control panel and select add new printer when prompted select network printer and next then check find in directory and when the find box comes up click find now. the printer should show with the name you give it. simply follow the rest of the instructions to install the printer on the client machines.

Thank kieran,

This is the way I use, I thought that there is a better way that let you do it once and for all for all users cause its a headache to do it for 80 computers, and now they will expand to become 250, and users we have are really beginners.

There are two methods to deal with the situation.
1. INstall the printer locally to a machine. Install the printer drivers locally in each and evry client and then point and print
2. Connect the printer to the network through a Print server. When a user wants to access the printer he needs just to type the IP address to access it.

Angry Printer for all

Obvious;y , your guys are not understanding the problem. You method will still have overnet creating the printer 80 freakin times.

Overnet, you need to make use of the printui.dll. Check out this link for more information.
