unable to delete or move file

I am encountering an error on a 2K box that prevents a user from deleting certain large files, indicating that the file is in use or that there may be a sharing violation. These files tend to be large(6 gb and up) video files created in programs such as Adobe Premiere. I've reinstalled Windows, ran chksdk, any thoughts?

Check the properties (rights) of the file. Make sure that file's attribute is not set to read only. Right click over the file and select properties.

I think in this case disabling the indexing service should help. If not then try delete the files from safe mode as posted above.
