usb problem after clean install

I did a clean install of windows 2000. Device manager saying
that usb ports are working properly. When I plug in printer and do an add printer, it says that it cannot locate a printer on my system. Also when I plug in my memory stick, I get no responce saying new device found. Can anyone help me or has anyone come across this problem before. Thanks

What kind of motherboard do you have (make/model)?

Did you download SP4? If not then I would suggest you do as there are updates included for USB issues included on SP4.

Thank you for your concern. But all I had to do was reinstall the driver for the usb ports. Why they did not load in the instalation I don't know. But the problem is resolved.
