CD drive not detected

BIOS sees it but windows doesn't. can't get to it on the run menu and no CD section under device manager. i just installed win2k and it won't go anything past that

case is a bit short on power, need to increase wattage for power supply... could that be the problem?

chk this out: http://www.jscustompcs.com/power_supply/

This will tell you if its the wattage...Could be a faulty CD-Rom, have you tested it out on other machines?
