administrator.bak

hope some one can help, whenever i do a virus scan it takes about 2 hours, i empty all my temp internet files, but what i havent done is empty my administrator.bak temporary internet files. is it safe to go into windows explorer and do this? there are absolutely thousands of them in there. there are about 7 files inside this administrator.bak temporary internet files folder which are named by a long list of letters. shall i delete them or leave alone? i have already deleted the contents of one of these files and thought i had better check before i go any further. what i have deleted is in my recycle bin if i have to restore it!! thanks from jane

administrator.bak folders and files are a backup of a user account on nt/2k they are usually created if windows has a problem booting it will create a different admin account and backup the settings to a folder named "administrator.bak". if you created the backup i would assume you could delete it. if windows created it you may have files and settings stored there.
