XP to Window 2000 Pro

Hi

I have windows xp installed on my pc, but I would like to remove it and put windows 2000 pro on.

Do I have to format my hard drive or can I just put the windows 2000 disc in and it will override it for me?

Thx

You can put Windows 2000 CD in there and install it, but at the end you will have two operating system, at that point you can manually remove the Windows XP's directory and remove the boot entry from the Boot Menu, that would be the easiest way of saving your data without backing it up to a CD or two.

cheers

You must also modify the boot.ini file
