Cannot install windows to sata maxtor 300Gb

Hello,
I just bought a new pc, with gigabyte mobo 925x chipset, p4 3.2 and a maxtor hd 6b300s model (sata hd). I am trying to install windows for 2 weeks now and still not success.
Details:
When the installation procedure starts I press F6 and insert the maxtor drivers diskette and select the correct ones. Then the installation starts, but when it copies all the files and restarts it hangs with messages like "Error loading operating system" etc.
I tried to partition disk with the tool from maxtor (maxblast 3) and everything is fine until the same point us above.
I also tried to overwrite the mbr with maxtor tool and with windows recovery console and still no luck.
I am already fed up with this, so please help me with any ideas.

i have just bought a new gigabyte board, mine is a K8, but anyway, the giga raid feature on mine did not need to use the floppy(third party drivers). i just loaded XP. since you are using win 2k you may need to slipstream SP4 to your installer.
