Duel boot system

When trying to upgrade from Windows '98 to 2000 there was a glitch in the installation and ended up in a loop. Rebooted from the installation CD and there was no recognition of any other version of Windows. A new install was done and now when it starts it shows 2 versions of Windows 2000, like a duel boot system. How do i get rid of the old one?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The easiest (and safest) way is to head to control panel > system > advanced > startup. look at the "deafult operating system" settings. You can select either the one shown or the one in the drop down list (which will appear identical) as the one to use at system start up. You can then reduce the time that the black selection screen appears by adjusting the time from the default of 30 seconds to as low as "0". If you set it to "0" besure first, that you have the corrrect "boot ini" selected, (If your computer already starts correctly, after the 30 second display, then you need only adjust the time display to "0")

Setting the time display to "0" will eliminate the black selection screen.
