Win 2000 and maxtor HD installing problem

Hello again,

now i have problem to get win2k installing my maxtor 250GB;

-bios sees hd
-dos sees hd
-windows management sees hd

but mycomputer doesnt see it.
win also popping up to install hd drivers, and i have tried to locate drivers for maxtor hd but no use, i also used maxtor installation software but it says that there is no maxtor or quantum hd in system, so i can put drivers to hd?

like (standard disk driver) that comes from windows 2000 cd, no use i cannot locate anydrivers for my hd, of course it will see it if i install fresh copy of windows on that hd but that would be too much work and i dont wanna mess my previous install.
