Audio Driver For IBM Thinkpad T23 Doesn't work or cannot be installed on Windows 2000

Dudes, am having some trouble installing one of the adio drivers for an IBM Thinkpad T23 on a Windows 2000 platform. I get the error message of "The name is already in use as either a service name or service display name." I can't live without my sound! Help me guys please, I'm so desperate! Thanks

I've just gotten hold of an old i SERIES IBM Thinkpad. The sound worked fine with 98se. Now that I've installed Win2k, it won't accept the driver for the Crystal Sound Card. The error is always "An error occured during the installation of the device. The name is already in use as either a service name or a service display name."

I have updated the BIOS to the latest version and I have updated OS to 2k sp4.

Any clues??
